Responsible for leading the Wisconsin Commercial Middle Market operations profit, growth and distribution alignment goals of CNA Wisconsin’s largest division. Lead and help drive a team of 6 underwriters and 4 underwriting assistants in Middle Market core business segments which include manufacturing, construction, technology, professional services, financial institutions and healthcare accounts.

Commercial underwriter responsible for an 8M book of business. Yearly new business production, rate and retention goals as senior level underwriter. Underwrote accounts ranging from small premium sizes (15K) up to complex accounts in the one million dollar range. Primary focus was on manufacturing accounts with an emphasis on severe products driven business. Liability adjuster for small to medium sized claims ranging from $100 to $100,000 in settlement value. Learned commercial insurance coverage and negotiations skills that carried over to the underwriting side of the business.
