Leading over 140 personnel on a 24/7 security operations center that provides proactive security risk assessment, incident response, and mitigation strategies for the Navy’s global IT infrastructure. Directs multiple cross functional teams in the engagement and creation of cyber event reports (Analysis), operation collection management (Intel), and Problem Indicator (Mitigation) through Splunk, Web Interfaces, and ITSM. Ensures the highest standards are met by training and mentoring team members and peers.

Employ tactical and strategic capabilities to plan, develop, and execute defensive Cyberspace Operations; perform Cyber Defense, Digital Forensics, Network Exploitation, Research and Development, and Cyber Planning; leverage tactical and strategic signals intelligence and cryptologic functions; execute cyber effects; identify and report worldwide threats in support of special operations forces, and national, fleet, and joint requirements; and control and safeguard access to classified material and information systems.

Analyze incidents for intelligence value, suspicious code and adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures; analyze operating system hardware interactions; update classified material, analyze global threat activities from data collected during network intrusion. Plan, direct, organize, schedule, and evaluate training programs; prepare and review correspondence, project reports, and messages; review and coordinate employee work schedules; prioritize work; review, recommend, implement and monitor company programs (quality assurance, training, safety, etc).

Directed cybersecurity for local and cross functional teams conducting malware analysis and target development for National level operations. Develop operational guidelines, objectives and policies; ensure personnel understood strategic goals and vision for all operations. Trained, mentored, and coached staff and conducted performance improvement plans. • Directed a cross functional team of 30 personnel to analyze 1.5 million suspicious cyber events, created and deployed 6,236 countermeasures, and released 95 Computer Network Defense reports to outside agencies• Led 20 analysts through the analysis of 568 network alerts and the identification of 50 malicious activities resulting in the release of 32 malware files tipped to external customers.• Collaborated with partner agencies to analyze 15 malicious files from a re-emerging cyber threat and engineered 6 SNORT signatures to mitigate future attacks against the Navy’s information network.• Performed malware analysis on 400,000 pieces of network traffic and engineered 2,516 network collection requirements. Actions led to the successful mitigation of 217 malicious events. Analyzed 127 unidentified network intrusions, identified and mitigated 25 malicious network attacks utilizing SNORT signatures. • Assisted in the formulation of security strategies incorporating current concepts and evolving IT Governance policies and keeps supervisors and associates aware of program status and issues.

Provided technical expertise and leadership in performing global network analysis, target development network topology mapping.• Led a team of 23 personnel during the exploitation of five high profile targets and the analysis of 35,000. Actions led to the release of 44 digital network information (DNI) reports and 2 network maps providing National level policy makers with critical data on emerging technical threats.• Provided professional and personal guidance to ensure the positive development of 125 personnel by recommending professional training and clear career paths for successful growth and development.
