As a Fire Captain I am responsible for an emergency response crew of firefighters. I am also responsible for the other shifts assigned to Fire Station 12. These responsibilities include the emergency response, implementing training programs, organizing facility maintenance, pre-incident planning, coordinating and directing code inspection, and managing the Hazardous Material Decontamination Team. I also act in the Battalion Chief position when needed. In addition to these duties, I also am responsible for the same duties and responsibilities as a Lieutenant.

After finishing my time as a training instructor I returned to the line as a roving D-Shift Lieutenant for four months, before returning to Tower 8. I then returned to my duties as a Fire Lieutenant and a member of the Technical Rescue Team.

Rocky Mountain Fire Academy

In 2010 I was assigned as a full time training instructor at the Rocky Mountain Fire Academy. I was responsible for scheduling training activities, teaching classes, coordinating logistics, documentation and discipline, and fitness training. I instructed two classes with 14-16 recruits in each class. The academy's were full time lasting 12 weeks each. In between academies I conducting inservice live burn training,and safety and survival training for front line crews. I also provided live burn training for the Colorado Department of Transportation, Colorado Miners, and firefighters deployed to antarctica.

In June, 2008 I was promoted to Fire Lieutenant and assigned to Truck 8 at AFD Station 8. My primary duties included emergency incident mitigation and coordination, implementing training at the company level, public education, fire inspections and code enforcement, emergency medical response,and coordinating the maintenance of apparatus and equipment. In addition to these duties I was also a member of the Technical Rescue Team, which included confined space rescue, high angle rescue, trench rescue, and emergency shoring.

As a firefighter paramedic I was assigned to a four person engine company. My primary duties include fire suppression and emergency medical treatment. I provided advanced life support and patient care, while coordinating treatment and transport activities with ambulance and fire crews. I was also responsible for maintaining equipment and apparatus, training, and coordinating EMS training at a company level.
