I spent 2 years as an inside sales rep for our Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota markets. I managed the customer accounts on an internal level with order entry, quotes and helped in the organizing and strategizing trucks for delivery.

I managed the quality control and customer satisfaction of our Creative Stair part division from our Zeeland, MI warehouse. Making sure the quality of our product we send out meets the expectations of our customers. I also managed our auditing department, our largest customer is Lowes. Their orders can consist of 100 to 150 items every week, and we audit the orders daily to give them the best accuracy and service possible. I've also been involved with our IT Department developing a paperless system to audit our orders. All our orders are pulled by a scanner system that is paperless. Over the last few years I've watched and even been involved in programs to help Empire become more efficient and stay ahead of the competition!

When I started in 2007 I was an order puller. I used an electric vehicle that pulled a cart through the warehouse, using a scanner which had a list of items following customers orders. In 2009, I migrated over to our return department. There I was in charge of sorting and putting away all customer returns. During that time I worked alongside another warehouse manager in developing a system on our scanner to put away returns electronically, which cut the process time in half. During my time in Empire's operations I have been involved with every department helping however I can.

In my time at Stock Building Supply I filled a variety of roles. I started when I was sixteen years old at the Coopersville, MI location working a couple hours after school helping customers and restocking material. In my second year of college my passion for my major dwindled and I moved over to the Grand Rapids, MI location full time. I started there as a crew leader for the Installed Insulation department. After a couple years I moved back into the Lumberyard side and filled a variety of roles as a door builder, loader, forklift operator pulling orders and restocking, unloading incoming trucks. In 2006, with all my knowledge of the operations in the yard they promoted me to Dispatcher, this included duties such scheduling deliveries, monitoring the DOT regulations for our location, handing out orders to be pulled and loaded, schedule incoming deliveries, and even dealt with some customers on placing orders and scheduling conflicts. I was laid off in early 2007 for some restructuring of management after surrounding locations were closed. I made a lot of friends within the company and enjoyed the time I spent working with all the wonderful people at Stock. The friends I made, helped me along my journey into Empire where I am now and still deal with some of them to this day.
