The role included:• Responsibility for delivery of the Trust’s strategic and operational research plans • Leadership of multi-disciplinary team of over 60 staff supporting clinical investigators & partners • Oversight of all operational research activity including planning, performance, delivery, and reporting • Leading transformational change projects including reshaping the research portfolio, delivering financial sustainability, and making research a great place to work• Recognition by NIHR for leading outstanding COVID-19 Research Contribution

The role included:• Management of an ERDF programme to grow industry/hospital collaborations• Managing a programme of activities to engage and enable staff• Generating a pipeline of problems and problem owners• Maintaining relationships with stakeholders and wider innovation ecosystem• Providing insight into new and emerging opportunities• Management of staff, resources, budgets and performance reporting

Jason was responsible for Open Labs’ collaborative research programme; this involved identifying emerging technologies and trends that would have an impact on the next generation of digital products and services and encouraging and supporting collaborations between companies and the University that capitalised upon this insight.

Jason led the International Centre for Digital Content's research and development team working on a broad programme of projects which were diverse in both scale and nature. Projects focused on the development of innovative applications of digital technology. This 20 strong, multi-disciplinary team comprised designers, developers, team leaders, and project managers. Their expertise spanned internet, mobile phone, interactive television and games console application development.
