Primarily I was the creative lead on all the Nationwide Insurance sponsorship work (NASCAR and Columbus Blue Jackets), but I also ran the AEP Ohio business. As an ACD I had a couple creative teams directly reporting to me, but I was still responsible for contributing to the work - and I loved every minute of it (still do).

As a Senior Writer I am responsible for creating and overseeing everything from print ads and television commercials to technical brochures and online communications. Currently I spend most of my time working on the Nationwide Insurance NASCAR sponsorship program. But I am also the creative lead for all of our American Electric Power energy conservation.

SMZ is an intimate agency, with a long and varied client list. And as the senior writer on staff I had the opportunity to work on all pieces of business, as well as new business pitches. Everything from local/regional accounts like: Detroit Tigers, Michigan Lottery and Taubman Retail Centers – to clients with a slightly larger footprint like: Big Boy.

As a Senior Writer, I had a lot of the same duties as a copywriter, concepting, creating and producing marketing materials for numerous clients, but now my responsibility for the strategic direction and final outcome were increased. Primarily I worked on the Canadian Tire business, which is a national retail chain with over 350 stores across the country..
