During this time I have several roles from programmer to development manager and member of the management team, creating change in process and project management. Over the 18 years I have worked on various projects designing and programming, a duty of care system, licensing manager, help desk, various EMS systems, firmware/applications for the xDSL Copperhead products and applications for the company’s OTDR product line.

As a senior programmer, I worked on a product for the energy sector called PowerQuote Universal with a team of 30+ developers, using Rational Unified Process. I assisted with estimating and designing new product features, and utilised tools such as Requisite Pro, Rational Rose, XML, Visual Studio .Net, Visual Studio 6, Office, ClearQuest, Java and Oracle.

During my 5 years, I was an experienced cross-platform developer with expertise in VisualBASIC, Linux/UNIX/Windows C, C++, 4GL, Delphi and ORACLE databases. Successfully delivered business software solutions for five major projects in the utilities market, including designing, coding and supporting the printing & reporting subsystem for PowerQuote. Proficient in advanced VisualBASIC programming and design, with experience in multi-tier application services and web-based call centre applications. Skilled in Windows installation, support, and networking. Contributed to the creation of the new corporate image and company re-launch with the market team.

During my five months in the "Development & Procurement" department, I was responsible for designing and developing a client-server exchange call logging system using Visual BASIC 3 and Oracle 7. This role also provided me with an opportunity to expand my knowledge in PC, Sun UNIX and Windows network configuration.

During my time in the IT Strategy Group and Operation Support departments, I honed my office and communication skills, learned how to program Excel 4 macro language for handling backup logs on Apple Mac systems, and supported a Bull MainFrame as a support operator.
