Responsibilities include...• Acting as resource person on technical matters to support and aid Engineering and Manufacturing departments in producing robust, consistent processes that help reduce reject rates and decrease time to market.• Providing technical expertise to identify and assess equipment and process problems and recommend solutions.• Supporting engineering objectives by working and leading cross-functional groups• Coordinating project management of multiple related projects directed toward strategic business and organizational objectives• Providing and overseeing creation of drawings and specifications for products, tools, fixtures, and packaging components• Addressing tolerances and capabilities of manufacturing processes• Implementing new equipment, processes, and technologies to develop world-class design capabilities. Focusing on improvement activities leading to cost reduction, continuous improvement, innovation, reduction in time to market, and quality improvement• Developing business processes and procedures that support evolving business line requirements • Evaluating alternatives and preparing business cases for new processing equipment, materials, and IT, as well as capital project management when required.

Responsibilities include...• Act as a resource on technical matters to support engineering and production in Ottawa and Winnipeg for producing robust, consistent processes. • Providing engineering expertise to implement projects from concept to completion. Projects may include office and plant layout changes, new plant equipment, new process development and process automation. • Development of documentation, such as work instructions, procedures, and process specifications, within an ISO environment• Training of engineering staff• Developing process control strategies and documenting as Process Control Plans (PCPs)• Preparing detailed equipment and process specifications, providing cost estimates for budget purposes to purchase equipment, and developing new processes and procedures to meet specific requirements.

Responsibilities include...• Act as a resource on technical matters to support engineering and production in Ottawa and Winnipeg for producing robust, consistent processes• Aid in resolution of manufacturing issues to minimize production delays• Ensure product conformance and quality• Design experiments for process mapping and process improvement projects• Collect and analyze data to trouble-shoot product failures and yield downturns• Complete root cause analysis to help highlight process issues and direct corrective actions

Responsibilities include...• Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the equipment and process, ensuring a high level of product quality and throughput. To achieve this requires the following; - Continuous monitoring of process equipment using statistical process control - Design of experiments (DOE) for process mapping and continuous improvement projects - Analysis of data to trouble-shoot product failures and yield downturns - Using root cause analysis and containment practices to resolve unexpected process issues - Using Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) tools to help increase yield and productivity of the process line• Secondary duties are to assist in qualifications of new equipment and processes, design / develop experiments, perform said experiments, analyze results, and perform risk management surveys to determine how new processes many affect other manufacturing areas.

Responsibilities include...• An intensive study of the interfacial phenomenon of alkyl ketene dimers (AKD) during vapor deposition on cellulose based substrates, including both experimentation and modeling• Design and construction of experimental equipment • Design of experiments to allow for mapping of the AKD interfacial reaction under various conditions such as temperature, pressure, etc.
