After a painful yet rewarding pivot process, we officially rebranded and relaunched Mentee in August of 2024. Yeah -- it's been quite the journey but I wouldn't trade it for anything 🙂Mentee's new mission is to help teenagers find intrinsic motivation through a combination of technology, psychology, and human accountability. Currently, we are running a near-peer coaching service business which has allowed us to learn from high school students and parents and iterate on our ideas based on what's working or not working for both students and parents.Personally, I made the transition from co-Founder and COO, to solo founder, and then back to co-founder and CEO (I know, a lot of change)! Each role has been a brand-new learning experience in itself. I oversee all of our sales, marketing, and customer discovery efforts while making sure that our product team has a clear understanding of Mentee's vision for the future and potential impact.Startups always present a number of uncertainties, but I am certain that I'll continue learning and growing alongside Mentee :)

I built a platform designed to give high school students an "inside scoop" on life at different colleges, directly from current students' perspectives. While it was an engaging concept, I quickly realized that the problem wasn’t pressing enough for students or parents to pay for, making it tough to turn into an economically viable business. In June 2024, we pivoted the company, and I transitioned from co-founder and COO, where I focused on product management, to founder and CEO, shifting my focus to sales and marketing to drive growth and new opportunities.Lessons Learned:- Fall in love with the problem and not the solution- Don't build a "full product" until you understand your customer's pain points -- instead validate your ideas as quickly as possible- When it comes to co-founder pairings, it's important to prioritize and nurture the personal relationship just as much as the business relationship
