Responsibilities include counseling soldiers about all aspects of their career, from initial enlistment to retirement. Process all incentive payments and all payments for education benefits. Conduct retirement briefs to prepare soldiers for what comes after retirement and also what needs to be done to get to retirement. Review and process all legal paperwork to discharge soldiers for adverse actions. Conduct retention interviews to retain qualified soldiers, giving them alternatives to separation in order to maintain the overall strength of the battalion. Additional duties include being appointed as the Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) program coordinator for my battalion as well as a victims advocate for sexual assault victims in the Indiana Army National Guard. I am also trained in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) by Living Works, as well as being an instructor for the ASIST workshop.

Train and mentor cadets, turning them into leaders in the United States Army. Identify and address all issues for Indiana Army National Guard cadets. Recruiting new cadets for the program, helping to grow the overall enrollment by over 100% in three years. As a cadre member, I helped to train and evaluate cadets, helping the program produce more cadets in the top 10% than nearly every other senior Army ROTC program in the nation.
