I founded Burris Law with my wife and law school sweetheart because we saw a need for a different approach to legal needs within the real estate, wills and estate planning, and litigation world. The big firm approach was not how I saw best to work with my clients, and we endeavor to bring that to every case we have at Burris Law. We represent clients and cases ranging from real estate, business litigation, trust and estate, senior living care communities, and more. As a family business, we endeavor to ensure our clients know we are thinking of them as people first, understanding their case and helping to solve their problems in a way that makes them feel heard, respected, and cared for. We take this same approach to our community, giving back through Mercy House, Chapman alumni outreach, and community events.

Prepared research memoranda for intellectual property case pertaining to legal issues of trademark infringement, trade dress and confusion and drafted post-trial motions resulting in substantial remittitur of $90M jury verdict. Successfully litigated high-exposure and life-pension worker’s compensation cases. Conducted depositions for complex claims with alleged orthopedic psychiatric and stress injuries. Provided in-depth case recommendations to attorneys and adjustors for their medical, litigation and expense reserve management.

Recommended by Dean John Eastman to work on Grace Church v. San Diego Planning Commission. Supported attorneys with research on RLUIPA anti-discrimination issue and Department of Justice intervention against city zoning board and planning commission. Drafted motion to compel production of planning commission recordings.

Directed medical and litigation management of $20 million aggregate case reserve. Inducted into Liberty Mutual’s National Top 10% Club. Collaborated with in-house counsel to develop legal and procedural case strategies for inception to settlement. Researched and interpreted relevant California Labor Code sections. Guided a team of three adjustors to manage technical decisions. Substantially raised level of customer service. In 2005 my team of three adjusters were knighted as the “Customer Turn-Around Team.” Spearheaded renewals of several key accounts.
