He joined the organization specifically to support the implementation of the Additional Protocol to Canada's Safeguards Agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). As a safeguards Officer, he also held nuclear material accountancy regulatory responsibilities for Canada's uranium processing facilities and for CANDU reactors, specifically the Darlington nuclear power plant.
