I grew up as an athlete in many team sports. From competing youth doubles in racket games to a state player in a volleyball team. My biggest pride was to represent Singapore as a national dragon boat paddler. After which, I became a coach and now a Founder of two event companies in Singapore that employ dragon boating learnings as core business values to run a wide spectrum of corporate events physically and virtually. All sports require every member in the team to build relationships based on integrity, compassion and loyalty. In particular to dragon boating, it also demands a high level of coordination, attention to details, and cooperation from every team member to accomplish their mission. With the same values, I lead my team to deliver innovative, sincere and professional events for our clients, based on trust, reliability and collaboration. My genuine interest in people is the main motivation for success. Seeing people of various background coming together to achieve goals tugs at my heartstrings. Over the years, the opportunities with our corporate partners and stakeholders allowed us to celebrate humbling successes in organising virtual/physical team building events, brand activations, company conferences, dinner & dances, regattas and not to forget the unforgettable dragon boat TV series which we co-produced with our national broadcaster (https://www.mewatch.sg/season/Paddles-Up-33613). I am often reminded by our business values to stay nimble, creative and innovative. While the team continues to deliver engagement programs in our own unique style, I believe we will always seek to challenge traditions and push boundaries. On the side, my love for travel has also weaved into the love of volunteering. Being part of the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) provides me with vast platform to share my passions. I develop and conduct educational seminars for enthusiast on the ground across the world, covering sport business topics on excellence, events and tourism. The title which I hold with the federation allows me to manage & work with more than 600 race officials across 92 countries. Giving me the rare opportunity to understand culture, people, tradition and practices in the most authentic form.
