I took on the key role of head of technology, responsible for the data infrastructure that distributed retail teams depend on. This included a purpose-built healthcare and sales CRM, an integrated e-commerce website and an underlying data platform which made the whole operation seamless. In my time in this role, I managed a team of software engineers, designers and product managers, which has given me a healthy respect for the skills these professionals bring to the table. My work revolved around close collaboration and clear communication, particularly with stakeholders. As our business expanded beyond Australia to Canada and New Zealand, our technology needs became more complex, especially with respect to sensitive customer health data. This is a modular product, designed to fit men’s, women’s and kids faces, that must be lightweight, attractive, comfortable, durable and affordable. In my time at Dresden, we grew the business from a good idea to a beloved international brand serving +50k happy customers. We raised $4M in VC funding and built a stellar team of 60+ employees working across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland and Toronto.To this day, the success of the Dresden frame system is one of my proudest professional achievements.     Inspired by my research in interactive technology at university, I began collaborating with Frank Maguire and Liam Ryan to create unique interactive artworks combining robot technology, user experience design and psychology. We conceived, designed and built from scratch three innovative artworks exhibited as part of Vivid Sydney, Wellington Lux, Big Day Out and Peats Ridge Festival. Each artwork drew inspiration from nature or from human behaviour, as well as our experience observing the nature of crowds during the Vivid festivals. Product & Design- Pitched original artwork concepts and won funding from NSW government arts funding bodies.- Translated concept art to prototype designs, both physical and digital.- Delivered finished, fully functioning artworks, on site.- Presented work in public forums & discussion panels.Artworks Exhibited- Social Firefly, 2011. A community of insect-inspired robots that demonstrated emergent behaviour in social networks.- Screaming Rapture, 2012. This artwork inspired collaboration in an otherwise prohibited act: making loud noise in public.- Morphic Mirror, 2013. This explored self perception and image manipulation in the public eye.
