Skoutli is an online marketplace of locations for creative work, like photoshoots and videos. We are on a mission to make location scouting effortless, providing amazing locations for every content creator, on any budget. In 2021 I joined as Co-Founder, working to quickly improve key business metrics, tripling new user growth and doubling monthly revenue in under 12 months.Leadership and Strategy- I recruited and lead a team of 14, spread across 4 time zones. - I helped raise $300k investment, with Antler VC and angel investors- We exceeded growth targets, despite widespread lockdowns and challenging conditions due to Covid. Product & Growth- Responsible for product strategy including go to market, user experience and product marketing. Responsible for product vision and ownership, overseeing all aspects of design, development, QA and devops.- Implemented AI-powered search engine, leading to a 4x increase in self-service revenue, in less than 6 months.- Tripled the sales team, quadrupling business volume whilst iterating the service model and pricing strategy for the enterprise segment.- Led growth initiatives that doubled our host community in less than 6 months.Introduced standard work practices across the operations, finance, sales, development and growth teams, minimising double handling & fast onboarding for all new team members.

Independent publishing has been a force for change and enlightenment since the invention of the printing press (and earlier), and has provided a foundation for my career. I have published content throughout, occasionally tapping into the viral zeitgeist, but always seeking to build community and share ideas.‘Aalto’ Youtube Channel- Video content, focussed on sim racing- Launching in 2022 with two goals in mind: a) Develop my racecraft and on-camera skills to a professional level, and b) build an online community that welcomes diversity in gender, culture and experience.'Creative Agency' Podcast- Launched in 2013 with two goals in mind: a) share the stories of people who’ve achieved incredible things and b) meet interesting people- Interviewed Bruce Jeffreys, who became a future co-founder.- Published 15 episodes, achieving +1k downloads per episode, and secured sponsorship partners for the show.

Dresden is on a mission to bring high-quality, sustainably made prescription glasses to anyone in the world, no matter where they live and how much money they have.After finding Product-Market fit, our primary challenge was growing our retail footprint. I took on the key role of head of technology, responsible for the data infrastructure that distributed retail teams depend on. This included a purpose-built healthcare and sales CRM, an integrated e-commerce website and an underlying data platform which made the whole operation seamless. In my time in this role, I managed a team of software engineers, designers and product managers, which has given me a healthy respect for the skills these professionals bring to the table. My work revolved around close collaboration and clear communication, particularly with stakeholders. As our business expanded beyond Australia to Canada and New Zealand, our technology needs became more complex, especially with respect to sensitive customer health data. My work focussed on delivery of key projects (including e-commerce launches, new CRM capabilities and integrations), collaborating across the business to ensure all technology efforts had clear business impact.

Meet Dresden: the world’s most playful glasses system.We are on a mission to bring high-quality, sustainably made prescription glasses to anyone in the world, no matter where they live and how much money they have.As co-founder I took the lead in product development for our innovative modular glasses system, overcoming the unique design and production challenges of a product to be manufactured in Australia and assembled in store, by customers. This is a modular product, designed to fit men’s, women’s and kids faces, that must be lightweight, attractive, comfortable, durable and affordable. In my time at Dresden, we grew the business from a good idea to a beloved international brand serving +50k happy customers. We raised $4M in VC funding and built a stellar team of 60+ employees working across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland and Toronto.To this day, the success of the Dresden frame system is one of my proudest professional achievements. Beyond the product, my work as co-founder involved shaping our customer experience, coordinating store launch and operation and helping a passionate team grow and thrive.We see things differently at Dresden. Inspired by my research in interactive technology at university, I began collaborating with Frank Maguire and Liam Ryan to create unique interactive artworks combining robot technology, user experience design and psychology. We conceived, designed and built from scratch three innovative artworks exhibited as part of Vivid Sydney, Wellington Lux, Big Day Out and Peats Ridge Festival. Each artwork drew inspiration from nature or from human behaviour, as well as our experience observing the nature of crowds during the Vivid festivals. Product & Design- Pitched original artwork concepts and won funding from NSW government arts funding bodies.- Translated concept art to prototype designs, both physical and digital.- Delivered finished, fully functioning artworks, on site.- Presented work in public forums & discussion panels.Artworks Exhibited- Social Firefly, 2011. A community of insect-inspired robots that demonstrated emergent behaviour in social networks.- Screaming Rapture, 2012. This artwork inspired collaboration in an otherwise prohibited act: making loud noise in public.- Morphic Mirror, 2013. This explored self perception and image manipulation in the public eye.

Sensorium Health creates products to help you make better sense of your body and the world around you. Their focus is on relaxation and stress relief through the real time body feedback app BrightHearts.I partnered with Dr. George Khut to create software products designed to help individuals manage their stress and anxiety through sensory biofeedback. Dr Khut had previously developed a unique heart rate biofeedback software solution as part of this PhD research, which we sought to commercialise.Product & Strategy- Pivoted the business from research consultancy to software as a service (SAAS), with freemium business model.- Introduced e-commerce channel, focussed on hardware accessories to accompany a software product, generating 80% of total revenue.- Created go-to-market strategy, focussing on psychologists and allied health professionals. - Recruited and consulted with beta users prior to launch.

Joined as one of the first camp instructors, helping to deliver app making & software education to kids (K-12) during school holidays. Helped refine the teaching model & lesson plans, as the program grew from one school to multiple sites.- Devised lesson plans appropriate for student maturity (K-12 age range) and technical proficiency, to ensure all kids get something out of the lessons.- Delivered face-to-face lessons, helping them understand concepts critical to software design & put them into action with real development tools.- Helped kids publish their first apps to the iOS app store.
