Throughout my professional life, my dedication has been to work in the field of diversity, equity, and inclusion. From the time at North Carolina Outward Bound to The Mountain Institute, we aimed to introduce young folks to the outdoors and to process their journey with them to ensure what they learned transferred to their lives at home. At CLC we built a school where human rights, social justice, and civil rights threaded throughout our program. We worked on increasing diversity and to create a school where students, faculty, and families celebrated differences and felt comfortable being their authentic selves. As a school leader, my job has been to be a servant to the cause, the families, the students, and the faculty. Throughout my career, in both paid and volunteer opportunities, I've thrived when working with others toward common goals, facilitating teams, and implementing systems to support and grow others. As I look ahead to what comes next, the drive is to be someplace focused on making the world a better place and where teams share a common goal and set of values.
