About Jason Freer

After 20 years as an administrative and operations professional, I've finally found my calling in the field of human resources. I've always strived to make the workplace a respectful, rewarding, and yes, fund place to be. The difference now is that it's actually part of my job description and I couldn't be more thrilled!For the past year, I've been a Human Resources Generalist for Western Peak Plumbing. As the sole HR representative for the company, I wear many hats and no two days are ever the same. My experience highlights include:- Processing full-cycle payroll for 40+ employees weekly, including benefits, garnishments, tool repayments, and all other payroll-related items- Onboarding new employees by welcoming them to the company, arranging access to all necessary software, answering any questions they may have about how to perform daily functions of their job, and following up with them to ensure a smooth transition from new employee to thriving employee- Managing and continuously updating employee files in compliance with federal and state regulations- Advising managers and staff on HR-related matters including licensing, FAMLI leave (Colorado), unemployment, and recent changes to laws concerning retirement benefits (Colorado)- Responding to information-related requests such as employment verifications, income verifications, garnishments, and child support ordersIn short, my time in the human resources field has exposed me to all different types of duties and responsibilities. I'm especially interested in specializing in benefits and compensation and how both can be used to improve the workplace for executives and employees.I'm open to hearing from other human resources professionals or anyone who might have a question about HR.
