Drove the efforts of 17 government agencies working to improve the lives of military families under Presidential Study Directive 9: Strengthening Our Military Families. Designed and led a team consisting of personnel from various agencies to inform and direct the efforts of the Interagency Task Force on Veterans Employment and the redesign of military transition programs.

One of thirteen candidates selected for America's most prestigious program for leadership and public service. Served as the First Lady’s White House Fellow and worked to take the broad concept of military family support and turn it into Joining Forces, the First Lady and Dr. Biden’s national initiative to mobilize support for military families.

In charge of operational planning, training coordination and resource management of a multinational force consisting of over 3900 personnel responsible for conducting counterinsurgency operations south of Kabul. Additionally responsible for the tactical employment of an Afghan National Army Brigade, two Provincial Police Battalions and the pilot program of the Afghan Public Protection Force. Responsible for formulating long-range plans for the development of Afghan National Security Forces and coordinating the efforts of Czech and Turkish provincial reconstruction teams to manage development projects and extend the reach of the Afghan government.

Operations officer for a 650-person task force responsible for counterinsurgency operations in Kunar province. Responsible for coordinating the efforts of the Afghan National Army, Police and Border Police forces to maintain security and interdict insurgent movement across nine governmental districts and 140km of the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. Coordinated interdiction efforts with the Pakistani Frontier Corps elements responsible for the Bajaur and Mohmand Agencies. Worked with Afghan government officials and USG representatives to detail the extent of wood smuggling across Kunar and to spur discussion of new laws that would deter corruption and disrupt insurgent funding stemming from the illegal wood trade.
