My story is a classic "start as a hobby, end up in business".I've enjoyed an amazing career as a pilot and flight instructor for over 25 years. Many of those years were spent in training departments. I know first hand how training and communication plays a critical role in the success of any business. I also know how challenging and expensive it can be. Ten years ago, I began to learn about software out of need. Our organization was spending thousands of dollars every week in travel costs to train employees. I needed a way to do distance learning. Make a training program and send it to the masses over the internet. The problem - license fees for that type of software were in the hundred thousand range just for the license, then support fees on top of that. After doing the best research I could, I spent that hundred thousand and ended up with a product that constantly broke, created more work than I had before and simply did not do the job. Tough lesson but valuable.I had a crazy idea that I could build my own software system that would be web-based & simple to use. It would have a frontend for employees to access training and communication and a backend for administrators to maintain records. Six and a half years ago I built that system. What started as a hobby has now grown into a full-time business. We design and build web-based, internal websites for small companies.An internal website is a custom made, responsive, mobile centric network where employees can communicate, collaborate, complete tasks and events, access information and create a positive company culture.
