The Advanced Concepts Group was DOE think tank chartered with identifying potential threats to national and global security 10 to 50 years in the future and the identification, developmet, and deployment of threat mitigation solutioins. Key topic categories at the ACG were: HUMAN CONDITION (aging population, rapid technology change, disease and epidemics), NATURAL RESOURCES & CLIMATE CHANGE (water, petroleum, environmental degradation), and WAR (asymmetric threats, aging nuclear stockpile, rapid global technology dissemination). Mr. Libersky received a Meritorious Achievement Award for his work with the “Strategies for the War on Terror” team in the ACG and was invited to participate on multiple panels and workshops at at the National Academy of Sciences.
