Prior to assuming the Senior Population Health Strategist role, I served as a Data Analyst for several of the same clients. In this capacity, I assessed the impact of chronic condition costs, the efficacy of wellness programs, and the appropriateness of healthcare venue usage. Strategies often included PBM options, onsite health centers, maternity programs, chronic disease programs and offerings, and wellness solutions.Before joining the data analytics team, I commenced my career at Cerner as a Senior Proposal Specialist with the state and local government team. At the time, Cerner sought individuals with prior government contracting experience, including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), various contract mechanisms (IDIQ, GMP, Cost Plus), and RFX development and responses. As a new role within the business unit, there was uncertainty regarding the roles and responsibilities and a loosely defined job description. Fortunately, I was able to contribute to the establishment of clear expectations, set appropriate benchmarks, and manage processes similar to those I had previously employed. The immediate impact on the business unit was significant. The business unit’s first contract as a result of our proposal was executed approximately 10 months after my arrival. By the following year, we had logged over $25 million in new business bookings, including health centers, MMIS modules/projects, wellness programs, state-wide behavioral health contracts, and EMR/EHR contracts.
