Three Lions is a minority owned consulting firm with clients in the US and Latin America. In the United States, we serve Democratic candidates and Progressive non-profit organizations (501c3, 501c4, etc.), labor groups, issue-based campaigns, PAC’s and 527’s, and other consulting firms among others. Domestic work includes a congressional race in Utah and municipal races in Dallas, Columbus and San Antonio where I managed targeting, field and political operations. Recent work includes helping Oregon’s former House Majority Leader, Val Hoyle launch her campaign for state Labor Commissioner and Judy Canales for the Texas 23rd congressional district.International work includes serving as the general consultant for Peru’s former President, Alejandro Toledo. Our team built a canvassing operation in Lima with 6,552 canvass shifts, knocking on 569,082 doors in 7 weeks to produce 237,578 voter ID’s. In Mexico, our team helped build a coordinated campaign, “Rescatemos Nuevo León” to help set the stage for the country’s first independent Governor, Jaime Rodríguez Calderón to win.
Political Director
Responsible for all aspects of the political program for Governor Kitzhaber’s historic fourth term re-election. Developed overall political strategy and built a diverse coalition of supporters reflective of the state. Worked closely with elected officials and candidates as well as allied organizations in labor, business, choice, LGBT, environmental communities, women voters and communities of color. The Governor received endorsements from over 75 membership organizations and associations, over 200 elected officials and over 1400 individual endorsements in all of Oregon’s 36 counties.
National Field Director
Directed the field operation for the largest campaign fighting for comprehensive immigration reform in the country. Field activity was designed to pressure Republican Members of Congress to urge former Speaker Boehner and then-House Majority Leader Eric Cantor to bring the Senate immigration bill to the floor for a vote. Strategy included organizing canvasses in 31 congressional districts and ongoing phone banks into district offices during recess periods. Activities culminated into congressional office “sit-ins” by activists in 23 district offices. The Alliance for Citizenship is led by the AFL-CIO, SEIU, Center for Community Change, Center for American Progress, Mi Familia Vota, America's Voice, National Immigration Forum and the National Immigration Law Center and includes over 100 organizations across the country.
Political And National Outreach Director
Project New America is a subscriber based research and strategy hub for the progressive infrastructure. Responsibilities included managing political relationships with senior staff and state staff of national organizations including; America Votes, AFL-CIO, NEA, AFSCME, SEIU, League of Conservation Voters, Sierra Club, Planned Parenthood, DLCC and the DGA. Work included project management for candidate and landscape research in AZ, CO, FL, ID, MT, NM, NV, TX and VA including research briefings and training on implementation. Served as PNA’s key strategist on all Latino-focused projects and managed a national research project that is the largest known body of political research of Latino voters that included over 6,000 interviews and the creation of four analytic Hispanic issue models used by NCLR, Voto Latino, NALEO, Mi Familia Vota and SEIU.
Senior Campaign Specialist
Served as the Political Department’s Western Region lead staff in the 2008 and 2010 elections. Managed the political operation in the West including AFL-CIO State Directors and staff in AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, NM, NV, OR, TX and WA. Directed logistics for labor canvasses in 23 states and built the AFL-CIO’s first national vote-by-mail/early vote program. Designated as the point of contact for the Democratic National Committee and state democratic parties. Worked with the Association of State Democratic Chairs to create the “Joint Victory Account” and raised almost $1 million in late funding from affiliate unions for ad buys and GOTV activities to benefit key 2008 US Senate races including; Al Franken, Jeff Merkley and Mark Begich. Was the AFL-CIO’s lead at the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center (BISC) Labor Table and worked on numerous initiatives around the country.
Executive Director
Responsible for managing legislative, electoral and union campaigns, fundraising, press and staff for the AFL-CIO’s member organization of Latino union members. Directed LCLAA’s GOTV program for the 2009 New Jersey gubernatorial election that included managing a 40 person paid canvassing operation. Worked with leadership in the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and was LCLAA’s point of contact for the White House, working with the Office of Public Engagement. Worked with the Senate Judiciary Committee staff on strategy for Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s confirmation hearings and with former Senate Majority Leader Reid’s office on the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
Deputy Political Director
Member of the leadership team that built, managed and executed Governor Dean’s 50 State Strategy. Worked with Regional Political Directors and State Party Executive Directors to manage our staff of 200 for the 2006 mid-term elections where Democrats won back the majority in congress. Trained staff to run year-round voter contact programs with intensive VoteBuilder training and reporting. Planned 6 national grassroots organizing events, including three national canvasses with 4 million pieces of literature distributed in 50 states. Traveled extensively with Governor Dean and worked with party leaders, elected officials, the donor community and allied organizations to build support for the signature program.
Legislative And Targeting Coordinator
Conducted candidate interviews for state legislative endorsements while managing Council 75’s PAC. Worked with the Democratic house and senate caucuses to develop legislative targets and strategy. Managed AFSCME’s member-mobilization for two statewide ballot measures and five municipal elections. Worked in the 2005 legislative session with a focus on healthcare, voting rights, campaigns and elections reform as well as Oregon National Guard issues.

Managed and directed the political program for the 2004 Presidential and Coordinated Campaign in Oregon.
Latino Outreach Director
Designed and implemented the state’s first campaign outreach strategy for the DNC to increase Oregon’s Latino voter turnout and Democratic performance. In a mid-term election, the program doubled Latino voter turnout and Democratic performance to surpass Hispanic voter turnout from the 2000 Presidential Election.
Congressional Aide
District staffer focused on federal health care, education and immigration issues. Served as the district contact for U.S. Embassies and Consulates to insure fair treatment of visa and asylum applicants and for the protection of U.S. citizens abroad. Regularly met with Oregon’s immigration director and staff regarding immigration law and implementation. Worked on federal tax issues with the IRS Congressional Liaison office. Worked with State Department officials on international adoption policy and transition of adopted children.
