I have the privilege to impact students’ lives every day because I work with a team of passionate educators and engineers committed to seeing technology transform learning for students and teachers alike.I lead a diverse group of software engineers, database administrators, devops engineers, user experience engineers, and quality assurance engineers developing software that positively impacts students’ and educators' lives. Whether it’s collaborating with product management to meet a market need, or finding, staffing, encouraging and leading engineering teams through the software development lifecycle, or helping write and enforce policies and procedures for ISO 27001 compliance, or managing a budget and reporting results to leadership, my role as Director of Engineering grants me the opportunity to affect change in the learning process for those students that will one day bring their own impressive change to our world. My spare time finds me volunteering for my community where I have the chance to work with passionate citizens striving to make our city better. I am currently serving as the elected Council Member in Place 2 of the City of Carrollton, Texas. Prior to this elected role, I served as chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission while also participating as an active member of the Capital Improvements Plan Advisory Committee. I am also a previous chair of our city’s Traffic Advisory Committee, and I am a past member of our city’s Charter Review Committee. In addition to my civic responsibilities, I enjoy reading and sometimes woodworking as evidenced by a few of my fingers not being like all the rest!I enjoy meeting new people and listening to new perspectives. Reach out to me if you want to talk about impacting lives with technology, the state of housing density or traffic in your community, or anything and everything from agile software development to woodworking.Professional Skills:Leadership, Team Building, Product Management, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Product Development, Product Roadmap, Java, HTML, CSS, Angular, JavaScript, J2EE, SQL, Jira.
