Jason is an award-winning designer and the art director for Viking Penguin Books in New York. He oversees book cover design for six distinct imprints: Viking Books, Penguin Books, Penguin Classics, Pamela Dorman Books, Penguin Life, and The Open Field.Before joining Viking Penguin Books, Jason first worked in the multi-disciplinary studio of Rodrigo Corral where he designed book covers and interiors, and collaborated on the development of editorial illustrations as well as identity and packaging initiatives. While at St. Martin’s Press, Jason continued to design smart and visually compelling book covers for a variety of fiction and non-fiction titles across five imprints. Prior to publishing, Jason worked for AMB Property Corporation (now ProLogis) where he was promoted to join the first in-house marketing team. In that role, he effectively developed and implemented aspects of the company's visual identity system and brand standards; developed print and digital properties for customers, partners, and employees as the company expanded its offices and portfolio worldwide; and developed design systems that reinforced the visual identity and brand, and allowed the company to produce assets quickly.His work has earned recognition and honors from the AIGA Eye on Design, the AIGA 50 Books | 50 Covers competition, the Type Directors Club, the New York Book Show, Literary Hub and Spine Magazine, and Communication Arts and Print magazines. In addition, his projects have been published in several books related to graphic design and publishing. Jason has also been a guest lecturer at Parsons School of Design, NYU Center for Publishing, and Mimaster Illustrazione and Milano Graphic Art in Milan, Italy.Jason is a graduate of Parsons School of Design and the University of Rochester.
