I'm was involved in a dual role of coaching clients who come in looking for job search assistance while also connecting with local companies to identify their hiring needs. I conducted initial intakes with clients as well as assist with resume and cover letter development and interview preparation. With employers, I got a feel for who makes the best employee from an experience and cultural standpoint to make sure we as an organization sent the best possible candidates their way and save them time and money. I also served as a consultant and liason to help facilitate the hiring process for smaller businesses.

I worked as part of a multi-disciplinary team to help people return to a level of musculoskeletal function with the intention of them to return to work. This involved conduction of functional assessments, testing one's capabilities to meet the physical demands of work to determine treatment and continued monitoring during the rehabilitation process. This also entailed exercise prescription, creating an approach to promote healing and build a tolerance to pain through job simulation tasks and whole-body exercise.

I provided wrap-around intensive services for the long term unemployed, helping them with their job search, resume, and interviewing skills, as well as referrals to resources that would help with other life challenges. I administered and interpreted assessments to determining job readiness including the Employment Readiness Scale (ERS) and ONET Interest Profiler. I facilitated a 3 Tier Job Club program designed to fast track long term unemployed adults to job readiness and provide them with understanding toward best networking practices. In addition, I headed outreach efforts to individuals who exhausted unemployment insurance benefits and referred them to Ready2Work services, counseled individuals through career change after closures at paper mills and other major job losses, and engaged in employer outreach in Information Technology and nonprofit sectors.

I provided coaching and delegated resources to dislocated and low-income workers through federal funding under the Workforce Investment Act (W.I.A) Led and facilitated orientation workshops and presentations about the program, communicating what can best serve a client. I dispensed advice and make recommendations on resumes, interviewing skills, and projected job growth. I also assessed job interviewing skills and resumes of clients, and provided constructive feedback to help clients achieve success in their work search. I had the privilege of serving on Goodwill’s Wellness committee, creating and promoting wellness initiatives that promote healthy living in the work place.

Created, implemented, and taught corporate stretching and exercise program suited toward injury prevention and stress reduction, which led to reduction in workplace injuries.

Served as an intern in the hospital's cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation program, Worked with patients in group settings, taking them through their exercise prescriptions as provided by the Exercise Physiologist. Led warm-up and cool-down sessions, and assisted patients with the machines they used to exercise and bring equipment that they needed.Created and implemented extracurricular program using Therabands, designed to help patients gain muscular strength and greater range of motion.

Researched articles pertaining to exercise performance in students with various medical conditions (most notably, asthma) as well as appropriate exercise programs corresponding to those conditions. This work was reviewed by former governor John Baldacci and contributed to the implementation of a FitnessGram program at Maine elementary schools throughout the state, predominately in Penobscot County.Researched information on grants for funding for the program from foundations all over the country.
