Jason has a broad background in public service and leadership and a deep background in technology and leadership of technology development teams.Jason has served as a high school teacher and as an adjunct instructor at Clark College. After 9/11, Jason enlisted in the Oregon Air National Guard where he went on to become a Captain in the 116th Air Control Squadron. He became a fully qualified Air Battle Manager where he learned how to coordinate air battles and the air component of offensive and defensive wartime operations. He also served as an online campus pastor for Living Hope Church in Vancouver, WA.Jason’s technology background started in the 1980’s where he learned on his own how to program on a Commodore 64. He learned how to build websites in 1994 and recognized at that time that the Internet was about to change everything. His passion for Internet technologies led him to create multiple web based companies. While the companies were never wildly successful, Jason learned a lot including how to manage development teams and what can be accomplished with technology. He is an expert in applying technologies to solve complex problems and has done so in inventive and creative ways.He is a member of Mensa and other high IQ communities, has served on the Washington State Youth Internet Safety Task Force, has served as the chair of the CTEC Advisory Board for Clark College, and brought new ideas and programs to the SMT (science, math, and technology) magnet program for the Vancouver School District. He also served as the advisor for the Future Business Leaders of America club at Ridgefield High School.Jason has a heart for people and has always sought out ways to serve those around him. His family has been active in serving the homeless community. Service is a core value of his family as is compassion and sacrifice.
