Member of interface convergence blade development team for multi-service telephony platform. Contributed to the firmware requirements and architecture. Ported VxWorks RTOS to the prototype ARM-based network processor platform and implemented PCI backplane network driver. Responsible for the design and implementation of the Gigabit-Ethernet packet to TDM telephony conversion microcode.

• Software architect for low-cost IP/ATM network encryption device with responsibility for overall software design and implementation. Managed the work of 23 software engineers. Provided estimates of design effort and assisted in project planning. Contributed to overall device architecture, interfaced with other functional groups and made technical presentations. Designed standard software environment and wrote project design standards and rules. Designed and implemented software security assurance mechanisms to contain and monitor execution of VxWorks RTOS and network protocol stacks. Over 30K units in use worldwide. • Developed critical software security mechanisms for ATM network encryption device. Modified VxWorks RTOS to include security mechanisms to protect sensitive data and code from software faults. Structured program image to meet security and operational requirements. Led effort to integrate application code into secure operating environment.• Member of small team developing a proof-of-concept IP network encryption device. Designed and implemented human-machine interface software and device drivers. Ported VxWorks RTOS to custom hardware platform. Led hardware/software integration effort. After exceptional performance in customer testing, units deployed to field to meet urgent operational need.

• Member of small team developing a prototype voice quality measurement system for a telecommunications service provider. Worked with customer scientist on the development and implementation of several signal processing algorithms. Designed the telephony network interface control software. • Member of cross-functional team developing a low-cost field service terminal for a telecommunication service provider.
