Binnen dit MT ben ik als leidinggevende ai, oa verantwoordelijkheid voor de portefeuille bestuurszaken met de teams 2e secretarissen en bestuursadviseurs, bij de afdeling TWO (Tijdelijke Werk Organisatie). Daarnaast vanuit mijn andere MT functie verantwoordelijke voor het team goed gebruik geneesmiddelen.

As a manager I'm responsible for 3 teams (in total 18 people) working together to promote the Better Use of medicines. This job focuse on MEB’s strategic ambition to promote the better use of medicines. We work closely together with our stakeholders. I'm also responsible for the subject better use of medicines in external and internal communications, reporting, finance, directing team staff and stakeholder relations.In the Better Use team there is a mix of people with backgrounds in communication, IT, policy, healthcare and pharmacy.The team focuses on two priorities: improved information for patients, and improved access to product information. Activities we have been working on among other things:1. Network Patient Information. Many consumers and patients search online for information about medicines they can trust. But a fact is, they don't always know what sources they can trust. To gain trust and make it easier we link 4 major websites and have developed a new customer journey between the websites. In my role I'm the chair of the Network and coordinate, together with the secretary. The Network is advised by 3 advisors with their own perspective (Dutch patients, healthcare research oriented view and views on Health Disparities).2. Compact medicines information. We are producing a new online information leaflet, a one-pager with easy-to-navigate information, including icons. Based on trusted sources from the medicines authority and the pharmacists. 3. ePI (electronic productinformation), we are participating in making ePI the new standard for product information from medicines in the EU.4. an update and restructuring for our Medicines Information Database website with product leaflets, making consumer friendly and easy to navigate for all target groups (including healthcare professionals). On a European level I participate in the HMA Working Group of Communication Professionals (WGCP) and the HMA Better Use group.

Responsible for managing media relations (spokesperson) and advisor for the medicines evaluation board, head of the agency and chair for external communications (e.g. safety communications on medicines, issue management, political issues, etc). Advising on all external communications, including political issues and content creation - e.g. film, infographics, texts targeted at 80% of the Dutch audience (B1-level writing). On a European level I represent the Netherlands in the HMA Working Group of Communication Professionals (WGCP) and the HMA Better Use group. I'm also the deputy manager within the communication department and within the agency I also hold a senior advisor function at the program Better use of Medicines.Recently also played a major role in the repositioning of the MEB. This is a result from my new position as a manager of Better Use. As of September 2019 my managerial tasks has been extended from 80% to fulltime.I still participate in European and international Communications meetings.
