Finding your path is not always so simple. I started off going to college thinking that I would love to be an engineer, but soon after starting I realized that my passions lay elsewhere. As time passed, I found that my true dreams lay within the world of finance and economics. Understanding how markets work and how this can affect individual firms has engaged me like nothing else has. I am glad that life is never as straightforward as it may seem.Currently, I am working on getting my Master of Science in Finance with a focus on Corporate finance. I previously worked at TEKsystems as a Business Operations Associate for one year. This position was a corporate office accounting position responsible for client billing and account upkeep. The total amount of money that I was responsible for was about $3-$4 million in any given quarter. Prior to this I attended the University of Arizona where I acquired both my bachelors degree in Economics, and some of the best leadership experience that can be found while attending college. I helped grow a fledgling fraternity of 30 members to a 100+ member fraternity by taking on a role of an executive board member to move the fraternity in a positive direction. I also got involved with another aspect of greek life which was Greek Standards Board, where a board of peers would decide if a Fraternity or Sorority was guilty of an accusation levied by the school, neighbors, or the police department. Both of these positions taught me the value of working in a team, but also the value of your own voice.I am glad that I took a chance and listened to my instinct because I have now realized what it is that I truly want and I would hope that I can share this passion within the finance industry soon.
