These responsibilities include construction oversight, planning, purchasing and provisioning the facilities, and transitioning their staff into this new hospital through a wide range of transition activities. The project consists of a Medical Center replacement facility and a new health and dental clinic supporting more than 90,000 soldiers, family members, veterans and retiree beneficiaries at Fort Bliss and the surrounding catchment area. These projects include inpatient (135 bed) and outpatient clinics, ancillary services, Graduate Medical Education and other infrastructure to support the healthcare needs at Ft Bliss. Responsible for the independent inspection of a wide variety of standardized items or operations requiring substantial knowledge of the method and techniques of construction, equipment, materials, practices, and the ability to interpret varied requirements in drawings and specifications. Also required to conduct audits and review/analyze data and documentation as well as assist with project schedules, logs, reports, Performance Information Procurement System (PIPS) and status of projects. Coordinate with design and construction teams on a daily basis to assure safe, timely, and successful completion of work. Have overseen the completion of projects totaling over 19 million dollars. Gained experience of the practices and regulations adhered to by government entities and contractors working for the health industry and the United States Military.

Responsible for the site investigation of commercial projects including topographic data collection, construction staking, geotechnical evaluation, and foundation recommendations. Assist with development plans, schematics and figures needed for construction and commissioning. Involved in the design and installation of geothermal heating and cooling, photovoltaic, solar hot water, and solar pool heating systems. Gained valuable experience in the alternative energy field including market trends, incentives and design parameters.

Involved in the design and cost estimating of construction projects, coordinating with sub-consultants and government officials, quality control of projects, preparing as-built drawings, and providing any documentation needed for government submittals. Involved in the design and analysis of several drainage improvement projects, flood studies, mine water management plans, and water way hydraulic models, providing necessary modifications to existing waterways in need of capacity increase and maintenance procedures. Responsibilities ranged from serving as the design engineer for the water group to performing field investigations for hydraulic models. Also responsible for the hydraulic analysis and design of conveyance structures for a variety of large-scale projects. Gained valuable experience and strong exposure to hands-on hydraulic projects in the civil engineering field.

Greater Seattle Area

Involved in the design and analysis of several commercial and municipal site development projects, airport runway grading and drainage, multilevel parking garage development plans, airport hanger drainage system improvements, solid waste transfer station alternative layouts, storm water treatment and detention facility design and Seattle streetcar alignment plans. Responsibilities included both client conceptual sessions to develop the scope of work as well as developing construction plans. Gained strong base for the civil engineering considerations needed for many aspects of site development.

Involved in the design of several residential development projects, municipal street and sewer improvements. Responsibilities ranged from design work to field investigations for developing construction documents. Gained fundamental understanding of three-dimensional design for grading and street layouts.
