My topic of research I conducted with Prof. Shalabh Maroo with the help of LSAMP was "Teaching a Computer to Recognize Handwritten Digits Utilizing Machine Learning". Dove into the powerful and relevant machine learning field by guiding my summer research towards image processing. Using logistic regression and optimization techniques in MATLAB, I successfully processed 5000 images of digits that trained an algorithm to predict new inputs of digits with 97.0 percent accuracy.
