Remote sensing, GIS and environmental science research. This project focuses on the use of diverse remote sensing sensors and techniques for developing novel detection tools which aim to improve the detection of environmental threats such as deforestation.

During this period, I have been part of the Remote Sensing team of the 'DETECT' International Partnership Program funded by the UK Space Agency. My work has focused on the design and development of novel SAR-based continuous change detection algorithms for the study of the hydrological dynamics of natural wetlands in Guyana (South America). In addition to the development of innovative flood detection web-Apps, I have also been responsible for a number of tasks such as the design and planning of ground-truthing campaigns, innovation plan, capacity-building programs or community engagement video activities.Similarly, I have also participated as a Remote sensing analyst in the Darwin project "Covid-19 impacts on Indigenous food sovereignty" investigating the potential impact that the COVID-19 pandemic may have exerted on deforestation and farming patterns around the indigenous communities of the North Rupununi, Guyana. Both projects have served to evaluate the environmental dynamics of the Upper-Rupununi natural ecosystems, allowing us to have a deeper understanding of the current socio-economic situation of the region
