• GIS and Remote Sensing analysis of spatial data to support decision making and project management processes associated with developing international tropical forest carbon projects (REDD+ Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation).• Gathering and integrating spatial datasets, and performing spatial analysis (ArcGIS) to apply VCS (Verified Carbon Standards) methodologies for the estimation of carbon credit generation. Experience in both avoided planned and unplanned deforestation projects.• Writing GIS scripts in Python for he automatization of spatial analysis. Good knowledge of the ArcPy package. • Processing remote sensing data (Landsat, Spot, LiDAR, Sentinel-2), performing unsupervised and supervised classifications and estimating historical deforestation rates (Erdas IMAGINE, ATCOR, Claslite, LAStools), generation of canopy height models with LiDAR data, design of forest surveys. • Performing forest surveys with an UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), including planning and logistics of the survey, field work in developing countries and remote locations, and processing of the collected data.• Literature reviewing and contacting official sources (governmental, NGOs) to retrieve information about the socio-economic context of the carbon projects.
