Team leader in charge of developing the portfolio of investments in forest and land use sector, including the design and implementation of a pilot programme for REDD+ results-based payments for USD 500 million; establishment of strategic alliances with other climate funding organizations, research institutions as well as structuring investments with private sector for potential future carbon markets for REDD+.During this period the portfolio of approved projects in forest and land use sector accounted for more than USD 1.3 billion of funds approved by GCF in 32 countries.

Responsible to coordinate the portfolio of projects in the forest and land use sector for the entire Latin American region (LAC). During this period I was direct responsible to lead dialogues with countries and supervise technical cooperation operations in Colombia, Peru Guatemala, Mexico, Guyana and Brazil. Among the major achievements during this period, the portfolio of forestry investments either originated or supported in the Climate Change Division included: i. A Joint declaration between governments of Peru and Norway for USD 250 million. ii. Forest Investment Program in Peru for USD 50 million and Mexico for USD 60 million iii. Forest Carbon Partnership Facility in Peru, Guatemala and Guyana for USD 11.4 million (USD 3.8 per country). iv. Amazon Region Protected Areas (ARPA) in Brazil for USD 170 million (USD 4 million contribution by IDB)
