That childhood dream probably came true with Melodysoft, allowing me to learn how an idea can gradually mature and eventually reach success, in spite of the lack of resources and a small inexperienced management team. Among other things, some inventiveness and dedication are necessary, and most importantly, looking forward to the project.Melodysoft began providing free services to webmasters, such as ad-financed discussion boards, in which our clients could have their own debate areas on the Internet. In a short period of time, Melodysoft went from being supported out of our own pockets to turning over amounts of money which allowed us to grow more and more, up to the point of reaching position number 1,000 among the most visited websites in the world.Such a rapid growth was in part a consequence of the boom of .com domains back then and the high price of ads inserted in these web portals by advertisers. Naturally however, markets finally stabilize and bubbles burst, which in turn led us to sharpen our wits and search for other products which were not financed by advertising. Therefore, one could say that Melodysoft was the seed that allowed us to move towards a much more stable and influential business model. This new project was named “Veloxia Network”.As of today, Melodysoft is still in service and is expected to undergo a process of restructuring and updating in order to adapt itself to emerging trends.Some functions performed:- Management- Java, html and Javascript programming; and graphic design.- Customer service and technical support.- Legal department.

Veloxia was a very important pillar in my professional development. Through this project I was able to gradually mould my technical profile within the managerial sphere, allowing me to focus not only on purely technical aspects, but also on business and management areas, the fields which I most enjoy working in.In the year 2001, Veloxia began to provide registration services of Internet domain names (nomitek.com), website hosting services (zilos.com) months later, and finally dedicated hosting services. With this portfolio, Veloxia became an Internet service provider (ISP) specializing in shared and dedicated hosting.At the start, we decided to always make use of our own infrastructure, which would allow us to make a difference with regard to some competing companies and also to have greater control over our systems and higher speed at problem solving. Leaving aside whether this was an appropriate choice or not, it led me to specialize in the particular technologies of DataCenters, including their design, implementation and management.In the year 2008, Veloxia hosted more than 1,000 computer servers and reached more than 15,000 clients, and was considered as one of the most important ISPs in Spain. It was precisely in that year when Veloxia was acquired by acens Technologies, the leading ISP in the Spanish sector, which is currently part of Telefónica.Some functions performed:- CTO - Coordination of the infrastructure and the networks/systems departments.- Security officer.- Design, implementation and management of DataCenters.- Active involvement in business matters for the creation and development of products and services, and ad hoc solutions for customers.
