I'm Javier Patrón, a data science enthusiast passionate about finding solutions to environmental problems. I hold a Master of Environmental Data Science from the Bren School at UCSB, where I learned to tackle environmental issues using data science techniques with R, Python, GIS, and SQL. My background in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering provides me with broad domain knowledge, enabling me to apply statistical and data analysis techniques across a variety of environmental challenges. My engineering background, combined with a project-oriented mindset and an active learning approach, equips me well to address challenging issues in this field. My experience at Current, a startup led by GE, has emphasized the value of data knowledge in supporting advocacy and mission-oriented decisions and has also honed my leadership skills, particularly as the technical support lead. With this foundation, I am especially interested in climate change mitigation strategies, such as natural climate solutions and carbon offset projects.
Listed skills include Electrical Engineering, Field Service Engineering, Digital Engagement, and Marine Engineering.
