Accountable & Responsive Governance and Expression and Freedom of Information Programs. This is done primarily through the provision of grants to civil society organisations, a program of workshops aimed at knowledge-building through information sharing, other capacity-building services and support of advocacy initiatives. My role is guiding the strategic direction of the program, managing program operations, resources, marketing and evaluation.

Monitoring South African politics, focussing on party political trends in support and electoral politics. Promoting accountable and ethical governance through research relating to Parliament, the Executive as well as internal party integrity. Interests include one party dominance and its effect on democratic states; the modalities of significant and credible democratic opposition from political parties and within civil society; and the alliances between labour and ruling parties in one party dominant states. Also interested in the establishment of a developmental state in South Africa that is premised on active and engaged citizenship. Writing briefings on these and other issues that relate to SA Politics, as well as other engagements including seminars, lectures and commentary in the media.
