Working on the GIST Marks and Spencers contract in Faversham, Kent for Pertemps.. I am working within a team of three to supply both warehouse staff and HGV 1 drivers. I am tasked with insuring that the contract contract operates in a smooth manner and that all staff are supplied within the SLA and KPI's that are set nationally. I work with the team and the client on a daily basis so that all temporary employees get the best experience possible and grow with the team, benefiting both the client and the business. I work proactively within the team to ensure that all processes are reviewed and to continually improve the branch. I work hands on with all aspects from payroll, bookings, employee recruitment, admin, database management and liasing with the client to name a few..

This venue was unique in the local area and offered consumers something different from its competitors in the area at the time. This position required me to both manage the venue on a daily basis and also manage all the events that were held in the venue. Events ranged from themed nights, live music, comedy, private parties and any other events that may be required. This meant that I would be tasked with the venue layout and design, marketing, planning, safety and all other aspects of the event. One unique point from the event aspect utilising the quirky aspect of the venue and having a wood cut out of Bruce Forsyth, whom had his own facebook page, would entice people to take pictures and join to the page, which was a fantastic way of marketing to the target audience. I was also tasked with the management of the venue and this included staff management both front of house and kitchen. Ensuring the venue was in on budget and ordering all goods needed for the operation of the site. I would also undertake all staff training and set up all rotas for the staff including all procedures that staff had to adhere to. I was with the venue from its very first opening until I decided to gain a better understanding of the events industry and attend University. I continued to work at the venue albeit when I was studying during the busy periods during my studies.

I was charged with managing a desk that catered for the driving sector and in particular ADR drivers, supplying companies such as BP, Shell and TDR to name a few. I would manage all temporary workers employed by the agency and would in turn manage all clients ensuring that they got the best customer service possible. As well as ensuring the best service I would proactively look for new contracts through direct sales calls, client presentations and through other means such as mail shots. I would work to a predicted budget to ensure year on year growth and the sustainability of the desk. This position included running a payroll weekly, interviewing and registering new candidates and adhering to stick government guidelines when it came to registering and managing temporary workers.

During this position I was to manage all clients in the industrial division at the Southend on Sea branch and during my employment also managed the Norfolk driving division for a time. The desk managed around 100 temporary workers per day and this would entail providing services such as a minibus for all employees, 24 hour call service, managing all staff rotas and for other seas employees on working holidays, for example, supplying accommodation in conjunction with the department and the Kings Lynn office. I would also do the weekly payroll and liaise with the head office department regarding this. I would ensure that all clients were given the best service possible and meet with them on regular intervals. Even though I was not directly responsible for sales I would go attend presentations and actively participate in the delivery and successful negotiation of the client. From there I would manage the set up process and negotiate the service to which would be provided.

This company eventually turned into Jark Recruitment as it was owned by Jark Holdings. I was origionally employed as a tempoary member of staff and was then offered a full time position. When starting the position I was able to implement many procedures in the office as the database and paperbased storage system were not kept very well. I also ensured that a registarion appointment system was put in place so that all consultants did not spend the vast majority of their days interviewing applicants. I was also tasked with the payroll so that not only did all staff get paid but also that all invoicing was correct so that the client could pay in a timely manner. I was eventually offered a promotion as I had been working very close with the Industrial department and was fully aware of all their clients needs.
