• Optimized our image processing pipeline to ensure breaking news images get ingested and distributed in a timely fashion.
• Developed a high performant, scalable media push system that has to match hundreds of subscribers with fine-grained, boolean criteria against the metadata present in an image.
• Key contributor to Corbis’s Core service tier and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Functionality spans E-commerce, Digital Asset Management, and financial systems integration. Service tier transitioned from COM+.
• Project lead for cloud-based system to deliver image metadata changes via FTP to subscribers. Developed scalable FTP delivery service resilient to subscriber down-time and cloud and network failures.
• Architected and developed an application that manages a controlled vocabulary that is localized to 11 languages. Reduced the image metadata to vocubulary mapping from 2 seconds to 60 ms per image.
• Developed a streamlined order processing system after sale of Corbis Images business unit; transferred the system to the buyer and migrated the platform to AWS
