Mr. Jay Harmon was appointed to the Senior Executive Service on March 19, 2019 as the Deputy to the Commanding General, U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School (AMEDDC&S), Health Readiness Center of Excellence (HRCoE). In this role, he provides executive leadership and advises the Commanding General on strategy and actions required to envision, design, train, educate and inspire the world's premier military medical force to enable readiness and strengthen America's Army. To achieve the AMEDDC&S HRCoE vision to be the foundation on which Army Medicine is built, sustained, and transformed, he is responsible for strategic planning and execution of a $154 million budget and serves as the primary integrator of medical requirements determination, capability development, and mission execution across the DOTmLPF domains and the PPBE process. In support of the commander’s priorities to Deliver Medical Education & Training, Design the Medical Force, Drive Change, and Take Care of Our People, Mr. Harmon shares responsibility for direct supervision and management oversight of all command personnel and programs and is responsible for direct interface with DoD, HQDA, Army Major Commands, and TRADOC’s Combined Arms Center and other Centers of Excellence.
