I joined CSafe in October 2023 to be Lead Engineer on the night shift. I am responsible for a team of 15 operators and 1 other engineer. I work closely along side the operations manager to ensure smooth operation during shift. Working closely with the R&D department to ensure end to end delivery of custom projects, I oversee creation, design and implementation at all stages of fulfilment. I have created a uniformed training matrix for all engineers, new and current, to be implemented within the facilities, ensuring health and safety is adhered to at all times, and all works carried out is to the highest expectation.

After working within mechanics and the prison service I planned a career break for the beginning of 2020. I requested extended leave from the prison which was unfortunately unable to be fulfilled so I was required to hand my formal notice in. I had organised a trip out to Hawaii to discover the islands and to drive back across the West to East Coast of America.When Covid 19 hit I was forced to withdraw my plans and find a job as I was unable to rejoin the prison service.

As a prison officer I was responsible for the day to day running of my wing including managing 6-8 officers during the shift. I maintained accurate wing role throughout the shift and reported to comms with correct numbers on and off wing. I managed 1 to 1s, performance plans and training of new staff. I would supervise escorts (such as hospital visits, funerals etc) of prisoners with another officer and complete relevant paperwork and reports.

I was responsible for managing the workshop to ensure work was distributed accordingly and completed on time. I trained new apprentices in correct repair procedure and how to complete tasks safely within a workshop environment. I carried out disciplinary procedures, performance reviews and feedback to CEO regarding updates of work and estimated time of completion, workload and apprentice progress.
