Graduated High School from UMS in 1970. Attended The Citadel and Graduated from The University of Alabama with a Major in Finance and a Minor in Insurance in 1974. Began a career in Insurance in 1974 when I went to work for my Father in the Family business- Ison Insurance Agency. I became President in 1979 after my Fathers death and remained in that position until 1990 when a 3 way merger of family Agency's in Mobile formed Thames Batre Mattei Beville & Ison. In 1998 the Agency was perpetuated when the Senior Partners were bought out.In 2013 we ReBranded and became Thames Batre with the same ownership. We have grown to be the 7 th largest Independent Insurance Agency in the State of Alabama and the largest in Mobile with 57 employees and growing. We are a member of Assurex International which has independent member Agencies worldwide with a combined premium volume of over $4 Billion.We have been chosen by Best Practices as a model Agency for the past 16 year's since the inception. We have been selected out of 38,500 Agencies nationwide from which 1,200 are nominated, 224 are selected, only 6 in Alabama and only 1 in Mobile! We are very proud of this accomplishment.
