Execute daily training exercises with assigned EDD designed to maintain proficiency while advancing dog to higher detection levels. Perform entry control point duties with assigned detection dog. Completed the EODT Worldwide Protective Services (WPS) Explosive Detection Dog Handlers Course. Certified assigned EDD on the National Odor Recognition Test and second phase certification trials required for deployment to Afghanistan. Completed WPS NPSS training at The O'Gara Group training facility in Montross, VA, which included qualification with the Glock 19 and M4, instruction in tactical medicine, protective detail operations and improvised explosive devices.2009-2010 Can-Am Protection Group Explosive Detection Canine HandlerResponsible for working and maintaining an explosive detection dog during Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan. Executed over 100 combat missions in support of Coalition Forces by conducting dismounted patrols searching for Improvised Explosive Devices. Briefed combat teams on IED emplacements and helped establish Standard Operating Procedures for future missions. Performed specialized duties in law enforcement, physical security and anti-terrorism operations.

Utilized omnipresence and positive citizen contacts to discourage theft, arson, robberies and assaults by actively patrolling various crime zones throughout the city. Maintained proficiency in tracking, building searches, detection, evidence recovery and criminal apprehensions. Duties included training and supervision of a nine man engineer squad in all aspects of demolitions, reconnaissance, and various counterinsurgency techniques. Executed combat operations in Saudi Arabia and Iraq during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Duties included the accountability for the health and welfare of an engineer squad and teaching combat effectiveness and basic medical procedures. Additional duties included the training and supervision of all combat operations, including parachuting into hostile terrain under adverse weather conditions, rappelling during counterinsurgency operations and conducting reconnaissance missions overseas.
