The Reporting Data and Analytics service offering continued after the A&I re-organisation in December 2017 where Jay was involved in the development of Spotfire linking to the BHP SAP landscape and the Reporting Foundation Project. The latter project implemented the Business Objects SAP module for BHP, which replaced the Business Intelligence reporting module. Jays’ responsibilities for this project included the training of all Finance users in the new module (AFO and WEBI versions) that required the development of training materials, scheduling, delivering sessions and supporting other members of the Service offering globally. Jay was responsible for the following tasks in the Projects below•CRISPR (review FBP roles and reallocate to P&A, GAS and A&R )o Leading the Global functions scope of worko Development of a results dashboard for the project outputs across the three regional streams, which provided insights into differences and commonalities in both project approach and work practices. •Master Data Maintenance (Finance WCF initiative)o Collation of feedback, workshops, process mapping, future state design and Technical requirements gathering for Technology solutions.o World Class Function initiative. Data Insights were taken from the CRISPR project as well as stakeholder engagement to map the process, identify bottlenecks, duplication and manual errors.o Development of Master Data Compliance Report dashboard to track errors to show success.o Development of a Pilot Cost Centre Lock Data Cleansing dashboard for Finance users to see what was preventing CC’s from being locked. Candidate for linking to the Data lake to improve data accuracy.

After the relocation of the Group Process and Data Owner (GPDO) team to Melbourne, from Singapore, and the restructure of Group Reporting, the BPDL activities were transferred to the GPDO team. The GPDO then changed to Analysis and Improvement team, in line with other functions within BHP Billiton. Jay initially maintained the BPDL activities and added other A&I activities were added to his KPIs including• Enterprise review• Chart of Accounts review• Hosting Finance PDAG meetings and attendance in A&I integration meetings.Late in 2016, the Finance Functional Integrity team was set up in the Global Accounting Services business located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and the BPDL activities were transitioned to this team. Data analytics and statistics have always been one of Jays interests so he started exploring Tableau and Spotfire while the Strategic decision was being made for Finance. Spotfire was selected after which Jay continued self training in Spotfire using the application where possible in work assigned by his Manager and where its used around BHP. He arranged for Function training delivered by Tibco and explored its use for the Reporting Data and Analytics Services Offering within A&I.Jay undertook a Continuous Improvement course in 2017.

Jay rejoined Group Reporting within BHP Billiton in the recently created BPDL role. While reporting to the VP of External reporting Jay had many stakeholders within this department, being Managers in Policy, External Reporting, Management Reporting, Group Consolidations, Group Functions and Group Process and Data Owners (GPDO). This role required obtaining business requirements for changes (Incidents, Governed and Pre-approved) to the 1SAP processes owned by Group reporting and raising them with GBIS. Jay tracked other change requests and reviewed them to assess the impact to Group Reporting as many of these were raised from other BPDLs. Training on the 1SAP landscape was also provided to the GR team on the ECC and BI integration to BCS as this area was not commonly used however had a direct impact on cyclical reporting.Achievements in this role• Instigated regular meetings with BPDLs from other businesses to discuss system, process and GBIS changes while the Finance PDAG meetings weren’t held.• Nominated himself as the main contact to GBIS for UAT within GR to reduce the communications from offshore and onshore GBIS to GR members.• Requested standard PEC-BCS scripts to be used in UAT as there were none in CC1 FY15 which meant many changes were tested outside the GBIS process.• Provided BPDL support to other Group Functions (IVM, Tax) as there had none of their own.

Operations Engineering-Finance-BCS Specialist–Accenture, Customer–BHPBilliton, Group Information ManagementSenior SAP BCS Consultant (April 2013 – Present)After agreement between GMR and Group IM, Jay was moved to the Finance Operation Engineering department of Group IM on a 12 month contract. Jay was contracted to work of Change Requests, Pre Approved Change requests and Governed Change requests raised by the Finance Group and specifically those impacting the BCS system. This work involved understanding and clarifying business requirements, writing functions specifications, reviewing Unit testing, assisting in integration testing, monitoring User Acceptance Testing and issue resolution from GCRs and PACRs. As Jay is based in Melbourne his role has had significant contact with Group Reporting and involved working with all BPDC, Senior Managers and other team members of this department. This involved working on location with Group Reporting from September through to December in order to deliver numerous Governed Change requests and PCARs.

1SAP Specialist – Group Management Reporting – BHPBilliton SAP Financials Consultant (March 2012 – April 2013)This contract role required Jay to work in the Group Management Reporting (GMR) team of the Group Reporting function of BHPBilliton. This role was challenging to Jay as the team produces the Group Management Committee (GMC) report, monthly, that is sent to the GMC and the BHPBilliton Board as well as reports for the CFO, so the visibility of results was high and output, important. Jay’s role as a 1SAP specialist was to assist the Team in receiving the changes in the reports, processes and systems as Group Reporting (GR) was part of the 1SAP Release 3 implementation. This involved working with various groups of the 1SAP Project team (Finance, BI, BCS, Portal, Security and CITs), AMO and GR in testing the changes, reconciling the results of migration and reviewing documentation. This work continued after the September Go live as the GMR 1SAP team disbanded. Jays initial contract was extended due to the number of changes required by GR that impacted the GMR team.BCS Data Transformation Project - BHPBilltionSAP SEM-BCS Consultant (August 2011 – March 2012)On this project Jays role was working within the Group Consolidation (GC) team of Group Reporting for BHPBilliton. Having worked in group reporting previously both as an employee and support consultant Jay fit within the team easily allowing for another GC member work on the project. Jays role included Business analyst support tasks, investigating DTP project issues, assisting the GC Senior Manager on various internal projects as required and dealing with Support providers to enable regular month end cycles to continue. During this time Jay was loaned to the GMSR team of the 1SAP Project to develop the 1BCS statutory hierarchy. This was originally on a full time basis for 4 weeks that changes to a part time responsibility that continued up to Go live and into Jays next role.

1SAP GSAP integration project Release 2a – Accenture, Customer – BHPBilliton SAP SEM-BCS Consultant (August 2010 – August 2011)This contract role required Jay to be the primary BCS consultant to advise on functionality and assist businesses in implementing the new Global SAP – 1SAP version (ECC6) for BHPBilliton, Release 2. The purpose of this project was to ensure that after 1SAP was implemented, Group wide reporting could continue from BCS with no impact, even though there were Master data Changes. This Release had a much broader scope, than Release 1, as there were SAP SLO changes in the ECC system as well as other changes to some entities migrating from the Legacy FILO to the productive ECC6. His duties to date included Developing and documenting solutions, meeting with stakeholders, updating documentation for scope changes, advising on the changes to be made in the ECC6 and FILO systems, developing journals to be posted to produce the correct consolidation and meeting regularly with groups impacted by the project. Onsite Support was provided to the largest business involved in the release which was based in Houston, USA.Project Daylight – Accenture, Customer – BHPBilliton SAP SEM-BCS Consultant – (April 2010 – August 2010)This contract role required Jay to be the primary SEM-BCS consultant to advise on functionality and assist businesses in meeting project deliverables. His duties included meeting with stakeholders, Blueprinting, Configuration, developing and documenting solutions, working with other support providers, UAT, and Issue resolution during deployment of changes.1SAP GSAP integration project – Accenture, Customer – BHPBilliton SAP Consultant – Financials (Dec 2009 – April 2010)This was the first release of the Integration project mentioned earlier. This release had a smaller scope however still required the same advice on functionality and assistance to businesses in implementing 1SAP.

Involved with multiple projects in the SEM-BCS, ECC6 and BPC SAP modules. These include blueprinting, Configuring, Testing (Unit, Integration and UAT) and Implementing solutions for customers across three industries in three continents. Provided remote and onsite support for BHPBilliton for day to day transactional systems as well as two implementation projects. Both involved SEM-BCS while one was SAP FILO (v4.7) (one). The tasks undertaken here covered liaising with the customer to ensure all tasks will be performed in a timely manner to meet with internal and external requirements, contacting Basis and BW groups so that tasks to be performed by CSC were completed before time required and performing his own tasks for testing, extracting data and analysis to recommend ways forward with in the system capabilities.Jay was the Primary on site SEM-BCS SAP Consultant for BHPBilliton and his involvement in Transition to Support covered BW, CPM, BCS and BPS. He was responsible for documenting functional specifications, undertaking configuration work, Month end support, Issue resolution, assistance with reconciliations, Support Pack testing and training. Included in Jay’s responsibilities was the development of Training material, delivery of this material and monitoring work of other consultants in Australia, Houston and Johannesburg.Attended SAP training courses AC505 (Product cost Planning) and SEM 240 (Business Consolidation)

Jayan was employed by BHPBilliton to rollout the FIN-CGV-MIC (v1) module globally in order to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (404) reporting. This included working with architects, investigating SAP standard configuration and it’s appropriateness for Sarbanes Oxley compliance. He was responsible for initiation, testing and approval of module changes within the landscape in addition to dealing with SAP Germany with regard to support Pack defects and module changes to improve functionality. He was the BHPBilliton contact for the enabling of CSC helpdesk globally. Jayan developed all training material, which was loaded into KW and made available on the intranet via links in the Visio process flows. During this time he provided training for users in Australia, Houston – Texas and Santiago - Chile.

Aug 2003 - Dec 2004, Jayan was employed by BHPBilliton with responsibility for the configuration of the SPL and it’s rollout to the organization. This included working with Architects, assessing the business requirements and making system changes to suit the business requiring the change to reporting. His role also included the documenting system processes and delivery of training to users in Australia, Houston-Texas and Yellowknife-Canada. Jayan lead the implementation for the Diamonds Business which, was completed on time. His responsibility covered the following modules (V4.7) FI (AP, AR, AA), CO (PCA, PS, IO), PCA, PS, JV and SPL.Jul 2001 – Aug 2003 Houston, Texas, Jayan was employed by the BHPB Houston Shared Service Centre as a Finance SAP Analyst. His role involved assisting implementations of SAP for various Minerals (operational and Exploration), Petroleum and Corporate BHPB Businesses in the Americas and to transfer Month End tasks to the Centre. Jayans’ responsibilities required the use of multiple SAP instances, multiple Controlling Areas, documenting processes and training users. He was responsible for changes in system configuration by working with CSC to instruct and test these changes. A successful project which was initiated, and developed, by Jayan was a Workflow based Master data change tracking system.From 2000 to 2001 Jay was employed by BHP Transport and Logistics to be the Finance SAP Analyst to manage Month end processing on the 3.1h version using modules FI (AA, AP, AR, GL), CO (PS, CCA, OM). Jay reengineered the process to reduce repeated steps and save time. Training users and systems developments were also part of his responsibilities. During this time a second instance (Corporate) was added to Jayans support responsibilities.
