Port Authority Bus Terminal (Pabt)

Project Management at the Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) in NYC. Project Compliance, Quality Control, Safety, PA standard enforcement, and providing special inspections during construction related to the Quality of Commute Program and related renovations/ improvements within the Bus Terminal. In addition, Mr. Roberts is the Primary TCAP (Tenant Construction and Alteration Projects) representative at the PABT and provides Project Management and coordination of new Tenant Space Construction with the Bus Terminal Facility and Operations.

Nj Turnpike Secaucus Maintenance Facility Project

Project Management, ARE, Construction Inspections for new NJTA maintenance facilities. Present location is District 8 Yard, Secaucus, NJ. Monitored all construction from ground up, performed all inspections, and visited pre-cast plant to maintain quality control.

Recent completed projects are with the New York City Department of Corrections as Construction Project Manager on the Rikers Island West Intake Facility 'Sprungs' #1 thru #5. His role encompassed all aspects of Construction Administration, and also included generating owner design changes and revisions to the construction documents using Autocad. In addition to working with NYC DOC, Jay has also managed several FDNY projects. This work included Fire House Renovations, Apparatus Floor Replacements, and a FDNY/ NYPD Marina replacement. Jay has also completed working on the Rutgers Livingston Campus New Student Housing Complex Project in Piscataway, NJ as a Project Manager and Construction Support Administrator where he provided 'Field Observation' and 'Non-Compliance' Reports for all phases of the project from ground up. He performed 'rough-in' inspections, interior, and exterior site/building punch lists. Responsibilities also included meeting with the GC and their sub-contractors, monitoring the completion/ resolution of field issues represented in the reports, and documenting the progress/ correction of this work to completion. All new Livingston Campus housing opened for the Fall 2012 school year.Previous to the Rutgers project, Mr. Roberts held the Full Time Project Manager position for Fletcher Thompson at the Ocean County Jail Expansion Project in Toms River, NJ. This one project consisted of two contracts, pre-cast and General Construction. The new facility is now fully occupied and functioning.

Project Manager for the School #28 & #29 elementary school projects in Elizabeth, N.J. Mr. Roberts performed a critical role in the construction of these school projects, which included the initial removal of hazardous materials from the site prior to start of construction.

In the first half of his career, Mr. Roberts managed many Public school projects throughout New Jersey, including Galloway Middle School, Hopewell Valley Schools, Secaucus HS/MS, Watchung Schools, Freehold Schools, Upper Freehold Schools, Absegami School, Rockaway Schools, Jefferson Township Schools, Summit HS/MS, and more. Roles such as a architectural designer, project manager, producer of construction documents / specifications, and assisting in on-site Construction Administration were a few of the primary components of his early career.
