Spent much of the year working on Homeland Defense issues including authoring "A Changing of the Guard - The new Role of America's National Guard in the wake of 9/11" in collaboration with several State Adjutant Generals. Organized and hosted special post - 9/11 discussions with Alan Dershowitz, Noam Chomsky, Samuel P. Huntington and other senior government and academic officials to discern roots of the 9/11 attack and develop measures to prevent future similar events. Participated in the Executive Session on Domestic Preparedness.Took courses at Harvard Business School, Law School, and Kennedy School of Government.
