Jay Sutorius is the Vice President Program Manager for the P-8 Poseidon commercial derivative aircraft. In this role, Sutorius leads the Tukwila, WA based team's efforts in development, production and sustainment of P-8s for the United States Navy and international customers. Prior to P-8, Sutorius led the Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System Recapitalization (JSTARS Recap) program during the competition for development and production of the United States Air Force system. Before JSTARS, Sutorius was program manager and site director for Boeing Special Projects Dallas (SPD). He also previously supported the P-8 Poseidon during development and initial production as deputy program manager and as chief engineer. Sutorius joined McDonnell Douglas in 1984 and has held a variety of positions in engineering, business development and program management. From 1999 to 2005 he worked on the F/A-18 program as chief systems engineer and Switzerland program manager. Prior to that, Sutorius supported the F-15 program as deputy program manager and forward fuselage Integrated Product Team leader. In 1992 Sutorius worked as a legislative assistant to U.S. Senator Kent Conrad through the Brookings Institution sponsored Congressional Fellows Program. A native of New York, NY, Sutorius earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
