Tucson International Gem shows are over. It was a good year for buyers. The show was a bit lightly attended compared to the roaring years of 2011-2116 when the Chinese started buying colored gems and caused the prices to accelerate as a result. Global economy is good. International demand is good. And if one shops excessively with the right knowledge, there are a few deals out there. Gemstone prices are still strong due to increased Global demand during the last 16-18 years. Supplies still have a hard time keeping up with this new demand causing firm prices and gradual price increases in better quality, rare colored gemstones.

I managed a wholesale gemstone company with seven employees. I also managed gemstone treatment facilities for a sister company in Bangkok, Thailand. At Novastar corporation I developed and supplied wholesale markets throughout the USA and the Carribean. We sold to jewelers, gem dealers, wholesale jewelry manufacturers, collectors, and TV shopping networks.We exhibited at the four largest wholesale gemstone trade shows: Tucson, Las Vegas, New York, and Miami shows.
