Author of "Economies that Mimic Life" (Routledge, 2021), "Companies That Mimic Life" (Routledge 2016) and "Profit for Life"(Society for Organizational Learning 2006). These books describe an emerging renaissance in business and economic practices inspired by systems thinking and bio-mimicry. My interest in these fields developed as an investment research project in the mid-1990s, when I began to draw meaningful distinctions between living assets (people and Nature) and non-living capital assets. The deeper I looked into this subject, the more it became clear that living asset stewardship (LAS) was a critical leverage point for both companies and economies - one that enabled them to work in harmony, rather than conflict, with society and ecosphere . During 2021, I joined with three partners to launch a new website titled www.ecorenaissance.org, which carries forward this transformative branch of practical knowledge.
