Mr. Burns joined Humana Inc in Louisville, KY in September 2013 as the Senior Organization Design Consultant. In this role, he works with organization leaders to align strategy with organization structure, roles and responsibilities, processes, metrics, decision rights, and reward systems. Organization Design projects include the sales organization, internal audit, special investigations, actuary and underwriting, behavioral health, wellness organization, and customer service organizations. From Jan 2000- Mar 2012 Mr. Burns served as a Booz Allen Hamilton consultant to government and military organizations. He specialized in Lean Six Sigma deployments, organization design and deployment, change management, project management, strategy development and deployment, process improvement, and organization assessments. Prior to Booz Allen Mr. Burns served as a US Army officer in Infantry and Aviation. Highlights include Attack Helicopter commander and S3 in the 82nd Airborne and 2nd Infantry Division, staff officer for 8th Army and Forces Command staffs, contracting officer, and inspector general. Mr. Burns was a Ranger and Master Parachutist, and served in Desert Shield/ Desert Storm setting up a logistics and maintenance operation in Abu Dhabi. He has an active TS clearance.Specialties: Certified PMP by the Project Management Institute (PMI), and holds a certification as a Change Management Advanced Practitioner from Georgetown University. Excels at leading and managing people, tasks, and budgets. Trained in Lean from Villanova University, Green Belt from Oriel, and Six Sigma Black Belt from Moresteam.
