The Physician-led Clinical Assistant Prep program, encompassing a rigorous 150-hour curriculum, provided me with a solid foundation in vital areas of healthcare. Through this program, I gained comprehensive knowledge and understanding of essential medical terminology, basic pharmacology and nutrition, as well as anatomy and physiology.Moreover, the program delved into the realm of clinical patient care, equipping me with crucial skills in electrocardiography, phlebotomy, parenteral administration, point of care testing, and assessment & management techniques for patients. In addition to the clinical aspect, the program also emphasized the importance of administrative tasks relevant to the role of a clinical medical assistant.The culmination of these acquired skills and knowledge paved the way for a remarkable opportunity—a volunteer-based internship in a clinical setting, where I actively engaged in direct patient care. This invaluable experience allowed me to contribute as a clinical medical assistant, working alongside healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care to patients.Overall, the Physician-led Clinical Assistant Prep program empowered me with a robust skill set and a deep understanding of clinical practices, preparing me to excel as a competent and compassionate clinical medical assistant. It also enabled me to sit for the national certification exam in Clinical Medical Assisting (CCMA) upon successful completion of the program.
